“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” ― Oscar Wilde
I speak to many corporate executives.
They talk about B2B, transformational change etc. It’s all a show.
I look at employers ad’s for potential employees. It’s all a show.
I recently attended social media training. A lot of hot air. It’s all a show.
We tend to put on a show when we are pretending to be who we are not.
Take a look at TV commercials. There is a massive gap between what the commercial promises and what the company delivers. It’s all a show.
When we are not sure of who we are, we put on a show.
I recently read this (cannot remember where..)
When you put on a show, you draw an audience who leave at the end of the show. But when you choose to serve, you build a community that stays with you.
Whether you are selling, running a marketing campaign or recruiting an employee, don’t put on a show.
Bring out the real you and focus on service. Build a community based on service.
Less show. More soul.
