So what do you do?

A common question, when ever we meet new people.

“I run an IT company” or ” I am an accountant” is a typical answer.

In a nutshell you combine ‘I’ and ‘your profession’ to make a sentence.

You just killed the conversation.

Not because of your profession.

Simply because you gave just enough information for others to pigeon
hole you.

The conversation was transactional.

Why not use this opportunity to get the other person to want to know more?

It is not what you do that matters.

It is what difference you make that interests people.

By answering these five questions, you can construct a purpose statement that will get people wanting to know more.

1.Start with how your prospects change or transform as a results of
working with you.

“A business that will work without them”.

2. Who you do it for?

Business owners.

3. What does your target market need/want?

Burning desire to grow and achieve to time and money freedom.

4. What do you do?

Business Coach

5. Who are you.

My name is Ravi Peal-Shankar.

Now put it all together.

I help business owners transform their lives to achieve time and money success. I do this by helping them build businesses that will work without them.

I am a Business Coach and my name is Ravi Peal-Shankar.

You’ll notice that items 1,2 & 3 are about the people you serve and
not you.
