“There comes a time when every life goes off course. In this desperate moment you must choose your direction. Will you fight to stay on the path while others tell you who you are? Or will you label yourself? Will you be honored by your choice? Or will you embrace your new path? Each morning you choose to move forward or to simply give up.” – Lucas Scott-One Tree Hill
The distance from earth to moon is about 240,000 miles.
A rocket that is sent to the moon is ‘off course’ 97% of the time.
The rocket is ‘on course’ for only 7200 miles out of 240,000 miles.
But the rocket eventually gets to the moon.
How is it possible?
Because the rocket is programmed to constantly adjust – ‘course correct’ – until it reaches its destination.
Not so strangely, you do the same thing when you drive.
You get in your car and set your GPS navigation to direct you to your destination.
Once you start the car, you are constantly adjusting (course correcting) until you reach your destination.
When driving, you course correct without even thinking.
But when it comes to business (and life) when we are ‘off-course’ we look at it as failure and become drama queens!
Life does not happen in straight line, so does business.
We are programmed to be off course so that we can learn and grow.
But that does not mean we have to stay off-course.
Smart people like you are constantly adjusting and course correcting.
The important step is to know you are off course.
In business the best way to be reminded that you are ‘off-course’ is to work with a great business coach or join a mastermind group.
