What do you see when you look?
Apparently 50% of us look at things but won’t actually see what we are looking at! Yes 50% of us are likely to -not see – a 500lb gorilla if it walked pass us.
World of Clutter
In a world of 140-character tweets, shorter attention spans adding to our physical, mental, emotional, informational clutter, this does not surprise me. (In my case I don’t see more than 50%….and my wife complains that I can’t hear!)
How this affects YOU
When I am carrying a lot of clutter in my head, my breathing is shallow and my energy levels are low and I am less productive. Procrastination and cappuccinos seem to dominate my days. This is also a sign of stress.
How this affects YOUR BUSINESS
If 50% of my prospects become oblivious to my promotional message, I need to work even smarter to get their attention. I have no control over their lack of attention span but I can approach my marketing activities – networking, blogging, copywriting, tweeting, email marketing etc…. – differently.
Please share your ideas:
What do you currently do to attract your prospects attention?
What (and how) would you change… if you know 50% wouldn’t notice it?
Can you spot how many times people in white shirt passed the ball?
