“Every company’s greatest assets are its customers, because without customers there is no company.” – Michael Leboeuf quotes
I coach accountants.
And I sit in many board meetings where P&L is discussed in detail.
The “asset” area of the business is discussed heavily.
Without exception, one asset is never listed.
The database.
The list that contains the customers who bought from you and who are likely to buy from you.
If there was a fire and everything (your assets) in your business got wiped out (expect for your database) – you can continue trading the next day.
But if you lost your database, you will have to start from scratch.
But this list is only a start.
A list without a plan for ‘nurturing’ is pointless.
When you build a ‘value bridge’ to nurture, educate and inform – frequently and consistently you are building a true asset.
What is a value of your true asset?
