We (my family) were on our way to a brief holiday to Malta. We decided to have lunch at London Gatwick. We randomly picked a place to eat. The food was below average to say the least. The staff went through the motion. The price was above average.
The same evening this was our experience in Malta. I walked in to a busy place called Ta’Pawla. Asked the 1st person I saw, whether he would be able to accommodate 7 people including 3 children. With a great big smile on his face he said “give me a second”, looked around and said “a table will ready in five minutes”. As promised the table was ready and we had warm welcome. The food was excellent and more importantly the service was superb.
Is my experience typical of the type of service gap between the United Kingdom and rest of the continental Europe? Or am I stereo typing Nations based on my one days experience?
