“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” – Neale Donald Walsch
A skilful Matador knows how to dominate a bullfight.
He frustrates the bull.
The bull is so frustrated that it needs to do something else.
Something different.
Something different to what it has been doing so far.
This stresses the bull even more.
At this point, the bull enters a space called “Carencia”.
This is an imaginary space in the ring where the bull feels safe.
Every time he is confused and frustrated, he will enter “carencia”.
Surprisingly we have our own “carencia”.
When we have to make tough decisions or take actions we have not done before, we will do everything to enter our “Carencia”
Our comfort zone.
I have a client who tells me that her telephone becomes invisible when she has to follow up a potential client, who she met at a networking event.
She will find work, mostly unproductive, so that she can avoid that phone call.
The shortest route to your success is outside your “Carencia”
Even the best of us will enter our “Carencia” every now and then.
Staying there forever is what stagnates our progress.
When you surround yourself with people who inspire possibilities, you won’t be given much of a chance to enter your “Carencia”.
