Doing the same thing over and over we get better at it. The end results get better. Others can try to copy you but cannot produce the same superior results you can produce. Word spreads that only you (or your business) can produce what you produce. Imitators are fighting amongst themselves. They compete on price, use slick marketing and fancy PR campaigns and overall they are doing okay. But a good portion of your market only wants what you offer. They know you do ‘one thing’ well.
