Strangely enough being a shining example to others has nothing to do with others. It is not an ego trip. Being a shining example simply means you choosing to lead a better life for yourself. It is the most selfless thing you could ever do!
What does ‘better’ mean?
Better means consistently bettering yourself everyday. You start from where you are right now with the aim of bettering yourself. You are not in competition with others. You are not in a race. You are not comparing yourself to others.
Where do I start?
This is not about being perfect. Far from it. This is about bettering yourself, from where you are right now, with what you already have! There is no need to wait for the perfect moment and spend money on gadgets and tools to get started. All you need is a commitment and resolve to get started to get better. You do not even need know exactly what to do! All you need is the willingness to start the process.
What should you start working on?
Answer to this question is unique as your fingerprint. For some of us the answer will be obvious. The important point is to dig deeper within your self and list areas where you want to better your self.

If any of the questions above grabs your interest, that is where you start. Let’s say the fitness area of your life grabs your interest and you intend to get fitter and become a good example to others. The next step is to workout what you are going to do on a regular basis to improve your fitness. Say you love cycling and you have a rusty bike some where in your garage. Your first step could be to commit to ride 5 miles every other day for the next 4 weeks. Plan to start as soon as possible and block time in your diary and go for it! That is it! You are on your way.
After 4 weeks review your progress and see how you could improve on that. May be you many want to ride 5 miles every day or you may want to stick to riding every other day but go for 10 miles instead of five.
Your daily routine is the key
Whatever area you want to improve, your daily routine will be key to becoming a great example to others. The grind of the daily routine is what makes you better and better. If the word routine makes you shudder, don’t panic. The power of routine is to direct your energy more effectively so that you channel it to better yourself. When you take charge of how you choose to spend your time, you start to get better results in your life.
Your daily routine is YOUR HABIT. Make it an inspiring one! (The video below will inspire you!)
