What can great comedians teach us about building a great value bridge?

How to break free from self-imposed limitations and succeed “A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals.” – Larry Bird

When you look at great comedians on stage, they look and sound effortless.

It appears that everything is flowing smoothly and the comedian has natural talent.

This cannot be further from the truth.

They rarely start with the jokes that make you crack up.

Comedians have a systematic way to developing great materials.

First stage is guesswork.

The comedian writes what she thinks is funny.

She is also well aware that it will need improving.

So she turns up to small pubs, bars and clubs and practices her jokes in front of a live audience.

Based on the feedback she receives, she will adjust and tweak her material.

She will repeat this process until the material is honed to be taken to a larger audience.

In building a ‘value bridge’ we take the same approach.

We test the initial blue print and continually test every single part of the process until we have more prospects in our pipeline than we can handle.
